PURPOSE
This role focuses on fostering a collaborative relationship with the Bank’s Regulators and Internal Legal department to embed a Compliance Culture across the Bank. Further ensuring that there is adherence to industry regulations and internal policies to mitigate risk and ethical breaches. The role is responsible to ensure the Bank remains compliant within Regulatory guidelines and any Compliance Breach is reported to the Regulator at the earliest. Further the role will have oversight of the AML Transactions Monitoring in the Bank. The Compliance Manager is responsible for developing compliance policies, conducting spot checks, training staff and reporting to senior management, and together with the Head of Risk and Compliance act as a liaison with regulatory bodies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in collaboration with Legal in developing the Bank’s Obligations Register.
- Raise awareness on all Compliance and AML requirements and procedures.
- Work in collaboration with the Manager Operational Risk to conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and create action plans to mitigate them.
- Educate employees on compliance obligations and foster a culture of integrity.
- Keep abreast of changes in legislation and act as the primary point of contact for external regulatory bodies.
- Keep up-to-date with regulatory changes and micro-banking best practices.
- Maintain a register of all BPNG requests, as well as any issues or requests to BPNG.
- Prepare detailed reports for senior management and the Board of Directors regarding compliance status and risk.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Compliance, preferably in the banking sector with exposure to AML Transaction Monitoring.
- Strong understanding of Financial Sector Compliance Obligations and the AML/CTF Act 2015.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and core banking software.
- Basic understanding of conducting Risk assessments and performing quality assurance checks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze regulations and apply them to business operations.
