Reports To: IT Manager


ABOUT ROLE

The role provides technical support to end-users — troubleshooting hardware/software issues, maintaining desktop computers and printers, responding to IT queries, and assisting with system updates and installations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Break-fix support and maintenance of deployed equipment
  • Deskside support for end-user devices (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, displays, printers, etc.)
  • Hands-and-feet support for infrastructure devices, printers, monitors, and scanners — including installation, relocation, and on-site setup
  • Install, Move, Add, Change, and Disposal (IMAC-D) activities
  • Monitor/laptop support
  • Coordination and participation in asset reconciliation and lifecycle management
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call availability

REQUIREMENTS

  • IT Diploma or Degree (optional)
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience (prior IT support role experience preferred)

CERTIFICATIONS (PREFERRED, NOT MANDATORY)

  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
  • ITIL Foundation (IT Service Management)
  • Other relevant certifications (to be specified)

SKILLS

  • Windows and macOS operating systems
  • Microsoft 365 (usage and basic administration)
  • Computer hardware and peripherals
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, Wi-Fi)
  • Active Directory and user account management
  • Ticketing systems
  • Basic cybersecurity awareness
  • Troubleshooting techniques and technical support proficiency
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Paradise Private Hospital has an illustrious past dating back to the pre-independence era when the very first private practise clinic in Port Moresby, in the then-Australian Territory of Papua, was established in 1959 on the site of where the Hospital now stands by Dr Shirley Clifton-Smith – wife of the Director Commonwealth Department of Works.
